How can we help you? FAQ’s

We always encourage patients to ask questions and share their concerns. Below, please find a few of the questions we hear most often from patients just like you. If you have a question that is not covered here, contact a member of our dental team today.

How long does it take to get an appointment?

We recommend seeing the dentist two times per year for dental exams and professional teeth cleanings. The American Dental Association recommends the same!

Generally, our team can get you an appointment with our Dr. Yu within two weeks of your phone call, but this is for general exams.

In most cases, when it comes to regular exams and cleanings, patients schedule their next appointments while they’re still in our Pasadena dental office. This helps you maintain your routine dental exam and teeth cleaning schedule.

If you have an emergency situation, however, our staff rallies to get you seen as soon as possible.

At Dental FX, we work hard to accommodate the needs of our patients, and will always make considerations for dental pain or a tooth-threatening situation. It is our goal, after all, to help you maintain a healthy smile for life.

Additionally, if you are traveling or have an event and would like to schedule a professional teeth whitening consultation, we encourage you to give us a call. We will always try to accommodate your needs and your schedule.

If you haven’t scheduled your next dental exam or teeth cleaning, we encourage you to contact Dental FX today.

How long has the dentist been in practice?

Dr. Judy Yu has owned her own practice for over twenty years. She earned her DMD degree at Temple University in 1999, and her MBA from Loyola in 2005. She is an experienced dentist who treats patients of all ages.

Additionally, she is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Maryland State Dental Association (MSDA), the Academy of General Dentists (AGD), the Maryland Academy of General Dentists, and she served as the Public Information Officer on the board of the Maryland Academy of General Dentists (MAGD). Dr. Yu is also certified in Forensic Dentistry through the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed Medical Center and has served on the Maryland State Committee for Oral Cancer Awareness. Today, she serves on The Anne Arundel County Oral Task Force, aiming to increase access to care for the adult population.

Patients enjoy her friendly demeanor and relaxing dental office. They appreciate her attention to detail and genuine concern for their oral health. Whether you want an exam and teeth cleaning or dental implants, Dr. Yu can help!

If you’re looking for family dentistry from a dentist who cares and a team who always goes the extra mile, we encourage you to contact our dental office today.

How much does it cost to go to the dentist?

Everyone’s dental needs are different, which makes it very difficult to give prices over the phone. We encourage you to come in to explain your goals to us. This enables your dentist in Pasadena, MD to order the necessary x-rays to establish a treatment plan that best suits these goals and your needs for optimal oral health.

At Dental FX, your dentist in Pasadena, MD sees patients of all ages, including children and senior citizens. Additionally, a cosmetic dental procedure will be more expensive than a standard dental exam, and so on.

In some cases, insurance covers all or a portion of your dental visit or procedure, which makes it difficult to estimate the cost without contacting your provider or going over your dental plan in detail. However, we will always work to maximize your dental benefits and keep you healthy and smiling.

We also have an in office Benefits Club for patients who do not have dental insurance. Our plan helps patients afford their preventive care dentistry while receiving a 20% courtesy on restorative work. You can find out more on our home page or calling the office.

Your dentist in Pasadena is interested in your smile goals and overall oral health, and scheduling an exam is the best way to learn about costs based on your immediate and future dental needs.

Contact a member of our team today to schedule a dental exam in Pasadena, or get in touch with us if you have any questions. We look forward to meeting you.

In this case, you can call your insurance provider to see if your particular procedure is covered or how much is covered. A member of our team can also help you navigate the language of your policy.

At Dental FX, we accept a wide variety of insurance types to help our patients budget their dental needs; this includes many PPO plans. We can also bill out of the network in some situations.
